How Photo Paper

A sheet of paper is rolled-out mix of pulp from wood and canvas, is not it? Photo paper is a cellulose fabric paint on top. However, the printer and ink makers trying to tell us the paint and paper-based system technology, which governs the appearance and quality of our photos. Of course, they are just trying to justify the prices are too?

Actually, what the paper factories and research laboratories in the ink, much of what they say is true. Inks and papers aredeveloped jointly by a number of colors that can reasonably be working on a variety of documents, works best on paper, which is designed to be used.

Better:

light color
fewer points of distribution of ink
Drying
better resistance to light
improved resistance to ozone

Just about everything you and the value of photography. Inks see how it could be a lot of chemistry involved in their performance, but it isOften it is difficult to understand the role of the paper. We are accustomed to reading and use all types of paper every day, so one thought, which consists of many different materials and constructed in layers to try to the best of all worlds, and may require some explanation .

Plain paper

Plain paper designed for printing office is usually a simple mechanical pulp. When you look at a plain sheet of paper under the magnifying glass, and evenat low magnification loupe you can see, fiber minutes, which are produced. Any liquid paint, as most of the color ink, it is likely that the basin and along these fibers.

It is important to remember that there are inks for inkjet printers consists of two parts: a dye carrier. Coloring is a coloring or pigment particles, which are text or photo printing, and the carrier is a liquid, in which the ink is suspended. These days, the carrier is mostly water, butIt can be a solvent for special applications.

Key features of dyes and pigments, which are suitable for various applications. Pigment particles are typically about 2 nm size, so small it easily between paper fibers and dive with the carrier. Pigments are 50 nm in 150N and can sit on the paper surface. Because of their size, the colors are more resistant to harmful ultraviolet radiation, which is the principal mechanismA color fade over time. Why not all manufacturers use the paint colors?

Pigments usually do not have such vivid colors as the colors, and this must be balanced in relation to their durability. Using pigments on plain paper, though, where most people will print black text, it makes sense. Therefore, many manufacturers now include an inkjet printer and two black inks: pigment black ink for printing text on plain paper and dye-based, one to mix withColor inks when printing photos. You can easily mix paints and pigment inks at the same press.

Scratchboard

The main reason for applying coatings to improve the way documents, the ink settles to them and help resist fading. It also reduces the drying time when printing images that are a lot of ink. Even so, it is easiest to paint, but still produces bad paper suitable for photography.

Many of the "ink" securities have a simple shell that allowsis better than the time at the copier to print text and graphics of days because it is less likely to ink soaking the paper fibers and gives a fuzzy or "feathered" look. These documents are often a better clarity, too, which gives a greater contrast with black ink.

PhotoPaper

To get the best inkjet photo printing, it is necessary to increase the number of layers and coatings specially made to treat specific aspects of the printingprocess. Modern photographic paper may be at least seven different layers, including: gloss, protection against UV radiation and ozone, air absorption, better resistance to drying and gluing, one sheet to another.

In the general category of photographic paper, there are two distinct types: swellable and porous. Swellable coatings really great. Surface layer obtained stronger than the carrier, and the ink is absorbed into it.

The idea is thatink is drawn in the paper, which gives it special protection against light and gas attack. How about tušíte whether the difference between dyes and pigments, is a swellable paper is best suited for Dye, but not color, is not expected back safely to dry enough to handle just about an hour after printing. They have days to dry completely.

Porous paper, on the other hand, works better with pigment inks and is designed toLet the ink soak in the carrier paper and left his body on the surface of the pigment. Since most of the carrier fluid is rapidly absorbed into the porous sublayer, images printed on porous paper usually dry in the second, or something completely dry for several hours.

Some photo papers are intentionally rough back coating. This is so that when printing multiple photos on each new batch left in the printer does not print holdthe output tray, which can not be the end of drying.

Like most technologies, which are not prepared in advance and the various components in different layers of photographic paper, you can list, which is the sovereign good job with color or one that is ideal for pigments.

In the years it is possible that the paper is better than adequate for both, so you can find documents that claim that they are suitable for all major brandsinkjet printers, although some of the traditionally used dyes, pigments, while others rely on. To override this, as producers of paper and ink to say, but simply shows that the compromise still has its advantages.
